We bought our motorhome from these people. We took it back for general maintenance. First the service manager was too busy playing with his computer to listen or take notes on what we needed and wanted done. We walked him thru the coach explaining what needed to be done in detail. (We even went over it with the service guy.) He never wrote anything down until he was back in the office, I guess. We needed a light bulb replaced that had burned out, they rewired a light(not the one that needed the bulb) and never replaced the bulb. We wanted a roof vent cover. They put one on but not on the vent we wanted covered. We wanted a brake control put on which they did. BUT it didn't work right. The way they had it wired messed up the back up camera and step control. We wanted a water fill put on but that didn't happen. We wanted the slide tightened but that was never touched. They had our phone number but never tried to reach us after we had called many times to check on the coach and see if they had any questions. They were suppose to order 2 metal posts for the table back in June when we bought it, still don't have them. When we went to pick it up the same service manager came out and said "It 's ready to go". Handed us a bill with no details. We've had plenty of experience with motorhomes and knew about what the cost should be so we thought OK that sounds good. But then we started checking on the work or lack thereof. We asked the service guy to hook up the motorhome to see if the brake control worked. Not once but three times. He acted like this was a big imposition for him. Finally got it done and that's when we discovered the wiring was wrong. Things proceeded downhill from there. We asked for a detailed explanation for the work done. We had everything removed that they had done and left.
We have been in motor-homing for over 12 years and this was the very worst service we've ever had and we've had some bad stuff.
Also beware of Fleetwood warranty. When we bought the coach it had 3500 miles on it but we were told it would have full Fleetwood warranty 1 year or 15,000 miles since we would be the first owners. We were later told by Fleetwood that it was out of warranty when we took it in at 16,000 miles. In other words warranty does not start with the first owner, it only goes for that 1 year or 15,000 miles. We asked the dealer and they continued to say it went for 18,000 miles disagreeing with Fleetwood. Their service manager said it was out of warranty but their general manager said it was in warranty. Obviously he was wrong.
From our experience we would never recommend doing business with Newcastle RV. Very bad service department.
