We have not previously written to any forum/blog/website, but after our maiden voyage in our new Cedar Creek 5th wheel, we feel compelled to share our experience. We left Tulsa, OK, on Aug. 21st, and stayed overnight in Amarillo, TX. When we left Amarillo, everything seemed fine with our rig. We were heading to Santa Fe, NM, for a week. And from Santa Fe onto Colorado for a three-week stay. We noticed our brake box inside the pick-up was flashing from one setting to another. Upon arrival at Santa Fe Skies Campground, great campground, we saw smoke coming from our emergency brake box located on the hitch pin. Before we could do anything, it melted and fell off the wiring. We immediately called our salesman, Matt Bishop, at Dave?s RV in Claremore, OK. He contacted Dave?s service department and promptly received a call stating we would receive a call from a local RV repair dealer. Scott from TravelTown Santa Fe called and we took our 5th wheel in to their shop. Jim started to work on our RV the moment it arrived. It turns out the brake drum on the back wheel of the driver?s side had broken and shorted out our emergency brake box on the hitch pin. This left us with no brakes on the 5th wheel. They removed the drum and repacked the wheel. We were left with three brakes, instead of four. We were excited just to have brakes. However, the very next morning we received a call from Lippert Components, Inc., Goshen, Indiana, manufacturer of our axles. We were informed they were overnighting a new axle to their mobile unit, and the technician would install it on site. When the technician arrived at our campground, he had not only one new axle, but two. He installed both axles at our campsite. He checked to make sure they worked with the brake box in the truck and was on his way. We were not out any money on any of these repair expenses. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. We recommend anyone in northeastern Oklahoma looking for an RV to check out Dave?s RV in Claremore, Oklahoma. Dave?s and the manufacturer of our 5th wheel, Forest River Inc., stood behind their product. If in need of RV repair while in Santa Fe, NM, we suggest you call TravelTown Santa Fe. Also, if your rig has Lippert axles, we feel confident any problem will be taken care of. We now feel better about our continuing our trip. So, it is onto Colorado and trout fishing." Excellent
