Unpaid Parts and Broken Promises at Barry Strickland RV Service Avoid Barry Strickland RV Service if you value honesty and financial responsibility. I entrusted them with $2,500 upfront to purchase parts for my RV repair. They assured me they would bill the warranty service for reimbursement, which they did. However, I never received the $2,500 back. For over a year, I've tried to resolve this issue with Barry Strickland RV Service. I offered flexible options, including a payment plan, but all attempts were ignored. This is not an isolated incident. Reviews online suggest similar experiences with them failing to return advanced payments. Here's my advice: * Do not pay Barry Strickland RV Service upfront for parts. * Get everything in writing before authorizing any work, including a breakdown of costs and a clear policy on upfront payments and their return. * Consider using a different RV service provider with a proven track record of transparent billing practices. By sharing my experience, I hope to prevent others from falling into the same trap.

Our RV ac was freezing up. Mr. Strickland convinced us to upgrade our ac unit - $1100. Two days later, the ac was still freezing up and has done so ever since. My husband called the next day and two days later, but the call was never returned. I began calling. He returned my calls, but with empty promises of getting back to me. A month later, and I havent heard from or seen Mr. Strickland.

Slide adjustment for vertical drop and replaced a slide bushing The normal slide adjustment on my 2004 Winnebago Brave 34D front slide with HWH hydraulic rams was frozen or stripped, so what should have been a simple adjustment was not. Barry was not discouraged saying there is always another way to do this. After trying a second method that also did not work he finally seized on inserting two steel shims on top of the slide ram and under the slideout room. This lifted the room back to where it should be. He also replaced a missing nylon bushing in that ram cylinder in a way that would ensure its staying in place. 30 years experience, including many at a dealership. Personable and reasonable. Rate in 2013 is $100/hour.
