Fifth wheel hitch installed and flipping of the axles. We purchased an used fifth wheel and the seller included the hitch. Adam's gave us an estimate for the work and we thought the price was fair. We call after the time promised to see what was going on and they said they were having problems because they usually only install brand new hitches. So they get the work finished and we get there to pick up our pickup truck and there is a hole where they had made a mistake and drilled in the wrong place. The hole was a little larger than a quarter. When we go in to pay they are charging us the price per hour for labor plus double because they said they had two technicians working on it. ($85/ hr. times two = $170/hr.). My husband and I were not very happy because they did not say anything about the labor price being doubled if two technicians worked on it when they gave us the estimate. We disputed the price and told them we was not happy about the hole in the bed of the truck. We negotiated a reduction in the price but it was still much more than the estimate. Well we had not choice but bring our fifth wheel in the next day to have the axles flipped. It took longer than quoted but we were happy to get the job completed because we needed to leave town that same day. The axle job ended up being double the estimate. I friend of ours working with my husband in the area had a brand new hitch installed and had the same problem with the labor charges. Not sure if this legal but everyone we talked to thought this did not sound fair, especially since they did not tell us this first. It was not posted anywhere. I would not recommend anyone going here for work on their trailers of hitches installed.
