This is NOT JUST service . . . BUT PURCHASE of a used RV at Bretz which shows they DO NOT SERVICE their RVs prior to putting an item on their lot as for sale & then misrepresent the RV to the buyer. You cannot be assured of driving home in a used RV from Bretz. My RV friends call it 'the trip from hell,' I call it a 'death-mobile.' Item is a 1991, 31', Class A, Bounder. Day to drive home, batteries were dead so they towed it back into the shop for two regulators or resistors. I drove 1,000 miles from Missoula to my home in Nevada and had 2 tows, 2 flats, 2 engine kills (NO steering & NO breaks), battery cable that fell off, & dead generator. It took 6 days to get home vs 2 with these layover for repairs & tires. I have spent $1,500 just to get home. At home, driving to RV repair, had 3rd flat. By my local 'certified RV mechanic,' had $2,000 repairs done to engine, engine mount, heat shield, & replaced the two corroded house batteries, plus full tuneup. I was told by Bretz that this Bounder would get me up my 5,000' mountain faster than my trade-in which got 40-45, the Bounder only goes 18 MPH up this grade. The tires were misrepresented as 'you are lucky, it appears they have all just been replaced' when in fact, BIG O signed a statement that tires were at half-life & were slathered with Armor All & covered a 4.5" sun-crack on another tire. Onan 7,000 works, used 1 qt of oil in less than 100 miles, then quits, problem is stator. My local mechanic found leak but to fix the stator will be $3-4,000, new gen would be $5,000. I need to replace the remaining 3 tires before using as an RV should be used. Total: $9,000+/- due to Bretz not checking anything on a used RV for sale on their lot when they knew you need to drive it home!!! Twice, I was told they operate under 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it.' The RV public needs to know that they do no checking other than appliances (refrigerator/microwave) & that Bretz should advertise their used items as: YOU MUST PURCHASE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY AS YOU MAY NOT GET OUT OF THE BRETZ ZIP CODE. We RVers need this on-line help for purchase & repairs & I thank you for being there for us.

Dropped trailer off on June 10th to have 2 valve leaks in the water system repaired. Did not get it completed until July 1st. After paying it took them 55 minutes to find my camper which they had just repaired this same day. They have the slowest customer service department and we have never been there when we didn't have to wait for extended times. Work seems to be ok but they do not repair, they replace.
