Don't be fooled. In addition to poor online reviews Mobile RV Works has a D- BBB rating for two complaints against them. I got lucky. When I saw his quote I was outraged. His estimate was almost $4000 for p&l to replace the black tank in my RV. He wanted $1335 for parts and $2400 for labor. I have a Heartland RV. I had hesitated to call the manufacturer as I thought their prices would be high but I was wrong. They used the VIN to determine exactly which tank I needed and then drilled the inlet openings for an exact match to the existing plumbing. The parts, tax and freight all for $326. The tank alone was $158. His was $891! Plus, I have no idea what he planned to install. The capacity didn’t even match the exact replacement so I’m guessing neither would have the dimensions or inlet openings. The day after I got his quote he texted to say I better jump on it as there were only 1 or 2 left and once they were gone it would have to be specially built and cost even more. Nothing this man says can be trusted. Then there was the water he noticed on the floor of the under storage area that he traced to the h/w heater. He said that was normal but if I wanted it replaced he’d sell me the unit for $1480 and not charge labor since there would be two workers onsite anyway. Heartland’s price $868! It gets better. It took awhile but I finally found a reputable RV tech. There was no leak in the tank or the h/w heater! The plumbing had somehow come loose from the gray tank that sets above the black tank. I paid more for someone to drive a further distance but the plumbing was secured into place and I’m now up and running for about $400. I did lose the $326 paid to Heartland since the tank couldn't be returned but it was still worth it. Had it gone the other way, Mobile RV Works would’ve been sitting pretty. 10 hours turned into $2400 plus roughly $1800 for simply pocketing the amount of the overcharged parts. Not a bad day's work as long as you don’t care about your reputation. Mobile RV Works claims to be honest and professional but is far from either. If there was a zero rating that's what they'd be getting.
