Diagnosed low battery issue. Found a bad converter and replaced it with a high quality, reliable converter. Swapped out two 12v with two 6v batteries at my request. Update: ======= THIS IS A REVISED REVIEW - I ORIGINALLY POSTED AN EXCELLENT REVIEW ON 11-1-11. I LATER FOUND OUT I RECEIVED TERRIBLE SERVICE, AND THE COMPANY WOULDN'T RESPOND TO MY E-MAILS. They took me right away and did the work while I waited. The owner diagnosed the problem and really knew what he was doing. Employees did the work. Good service, nice people. Would highly recommend. Update: ======= ALL AROUND AWFUL SERVICE ? Main Street RV and Marine installed a new RV converter which did not work, but it took some time to figure that out. I now suspect it was USED. I paid for a new one, and NEW was listed on my receipt. After this install, I had other failed systems in my RV due to high wattage including a GFI that melted, a TV that had smoke coming out of it, a generator voltage regular and automatic transfer switch that had to be replaced. After months of inconvenience and over $1,000 of new parts and labor charges, it was finally determined the original cause of the electrical problems in my RV was the converter installed by Main Street RV and Marine. When it was unplugged, everything worked fine. Otherwise, the watts were off the dial. When the converter was removed, it rattled - an electrolytic capacitor was broken loose from the circuit board. I also had them install 6V deep cycle batteries which were wired incorrectly by the tech ? when the owner noticed, he re-wired them correctly. I didn't know at the time that this was a problem. I received no documentation for my new converter, but on-line research for the manual later showed this will cause the fuses in the converter to blow, and my fuses were bad. This is the ONLY way the fuses will blow. I sent three lengthy e-mails of explanation - what happened, who diagnosed the problems and their contact info, what I had to replace, etc., and a request for reimbursement. I NEVER HAD A REPLY. NO HELP, NO SUGGESTIONS, NO DENIAL OF WRONGDOING. THEY DIDN?T EVEN GIVE ME THE COURTESY OF A RETURN E-MAIL. (I have "received" and "read" receipts for the e-mails, so they got them.) A friend recommended I try to return the converter under warranty, and the manufacturer mailed me a new converter, which is working great. NOTE: Main Street RV and Marine sold me a 50 amp when I needed a 30 amp converter. He changed out the plug to make it work in my RV. Making this change could have invalidated my warranty, as well as listing the converter wrong on my receipt, which showed a 30 amp. I explained the situation to the manufacturer over the phone, and since I was sending them the more expensive unit, they agreed to mail me a 30 amp under warranty. I WOULD WARN PEOPLE AWAY FROM MAIN STREET RV AND MARINE SERVICE.
